About Maysie Pyatt

Maysie Pyatt grew up in Greytown surrounded by nature and a rural community. She began sewing costumes out of a love of history but quickly grew to adore the dramatics of stage costumes.

Moving to Wellington, she has become a recent graduate of a Diploma in Costume Construction at Toi Whakaari Drama School.

During her studies, she’s had the opportunity to work on many different productions around Wellington. Maysie has worked twice with Wellington Opera on La Traviata and Lucia di Lammermoor. She also worked on the G&T Production’s show of Les Misérables and Circa Theatre’s Christmas Pantomime show of Pinocchio. She has also enjoyed branching into dancewear when working with the New Zealand School of Dance on their 2022 Graduation season and 2023 Choreographic season.

Post Graduation, she had the opportunity to return to Circa Theatre, working on their 2023 Christmas Pantomime show of Treasure Island and 2024 season of Sense and Sensibility. She has also continued her relationship with Wellington Opera, working on her third show with them, Tosca.

Maysie has loved advancing her skills and fulfilling different costuming roles on shows. Her future aspirations are to work for productions in a range of areas to continue her learning and growth as a costume maker.
